OUR RESURRECTED SAVIOUR

There’s a message I want to bring out of this scripture:

·       Maybe you have known Jesus but have not been following him.

·       You might think that you have gone too far and there is no hope.

·       You might have messed up and have been condemning yourself over and over.

·       There is hope for all in our resurrected Saviour Jesus.

Talk about the Apostle Peter:

·       He was part of Jesus’ inner circle. Peter, James, and John.

·       He was with Jesus on the mount of Transfiguration. Jesus, Moses and Elijah.

·       He was the one who walked on the water.

·       He was the one who’s name was changed from Simon to “Peter” which means a rock.

·       Jesus told Peter that HE would suffer many things and be rejected by the chief priests and teachers of the law.

·       He also told Peter that they would kill him and after 3 days he would rise again.

·       Peter took Jesus aside and rebuked him. (Never Lord)

·       Jesus rebuked Peter and said get behind me satan.

Mark 14:27-31 (NIV) 27 “You will all fall away,” Jesus told them, “for it is written: “‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ 28 But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.” 29 Peter declared, “Even if all fall away, I will not.” 30 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “today—yes, tonight—before the rooster crows twice you yourself will disown me three times.” 31 But Peter insisted emphatically, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the others said the same.

·       We know from the scriptures that what Jesus said came to pass.

·       Before the rooster crowed twice, Peter denied Jesus 3 times.

·       And the scriptures say that he broke down and wept.

·       We see later in the word that Peter went back fishing.

·       But Jesus never stopped loving and reaching out to Peter.

1: Our Resurrected Saviour never gives up on you.

Mark 16:4-7 (NIV) But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.

7 “Don't be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”

·       Angel was Jesus’ messenger, and he said Tell the disciples and make sure you tell Peter as well.

·       Jesus makes a point of singling out Peter.

·       Jesus appears to the disciples and Peter in Galilee as he said he would

·       In John 21, we see Jesus asks him 3 times, “Peter, do you love me”

·       Peter says, “You know I love you.” Feed my lambs, take care of my sheep, feed my sheep.

·       Peter became the rock that Jesus said he would and preached on the day of Pentecost and 3000 people were saved.

·       He then went on to preach to the Jews and the Gentiles for the rest of his life.

It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in your past, you might have even denied knowing Jesus, but he will not give up on you.

·       He loves you and has a plan and purpose for your life.

·       He is the one calling your name in the hope that you will answer and say, “Lord you know I love you.”

2: Our Resurrected Saviour frees us from condemnation.

Romans 8:28-39 (NIV) 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

·       He was the firstborn of many brothers and sisters.

·       Jesus died and then was raised to life.

·       If we die with Him, we will also be made alive with him.

30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. 31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one.

Romans 8:1 (NIV)

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

3: Our Resurrected Saviour enables us to live a victorious life.

34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one.

Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God (Place of Authority), and is also interceding (petitioning: – appealing to God on our behalf), for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? …..

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

·       Not only did he die for our sins, but he rose victorious over death, hell, and the grave.

·       So, by faith in Jesus, we now have been raised from death to life, from hell to being citizens of heaven and conquered the grave having obtained eternal life.

·       We are declared as more than conquers because the devil no longer has power over us.

·       He is the accuser of the brethren.

·       When you sin, he wants you to feel guilty and condemned so that you run away from God.

·       Adam and eve Hid.

·       But we have been declared Justified (not guilty before God) and therefore because we are in Christ nothing can separate us from God’s love for us.

·       So instead of running from God we are drawn to Him knowing he loves us unconditionally.

We can live a life of Victory knowing that Jesus loved us enough to die but was also raised back to life by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The revelation of God’s love for us is found in Christ Jesus our Lord.

4: Through our Resurrected Saviour we have Resurrection Life.

Romans 8:11 (NIV)

11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

·       He comes to give us Life and life to the full. Life abundantly

Romans 8:11 (TPT)

11 Yes, God raised Jesus to life! And since God’s Spirit of Resurrection lives in you, he will also raise your dying body to life by the same Spirit that breathes life into you!

WE NOT ONLY HAVE RESURRECTION LIFE BUT WE HAVE RESURRECTION POWER

Eph.1:17-21 (NIV) I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.  18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, 20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

Ephesians 1:17-20 (AMP)

17 [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, 18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), 19 And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, 20 Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],

Apostle Paul is saying here:

·       The Father will give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you know Him better.

·       Eyes of your heart be enlightened so that you would know who you are in Him.

·       The riches of his glorious inheritance that we have as saints

·       And His incomparable, immeasurable, unlimited, surpassing greatness of His power in us and for us who believe.

·       That same resurrection power that he used when he raised Jesus Christ from the dead.
